Cross-Cultural Considerations for Early Motor Development
with Dr. Bianca Mendoça, PT, DPT, PCS, CLC

Dr. Mendonça is a board-certified pediatric doctor of physical therapy with specialties in infant development, developmental disabilities, and torticollis treatment. She is the co-founder of NeuroFit Institute and has extensive experience in multiple settings of pediatric physical therapy including early intervention, hospital-based outpatient, and acute rehabilitation. After developing an interest in the interplay between lactation and neuromotor development, she obtained a certification as a lactation counselor (CLC) from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. Dr. Mendonça has conducted research in cross-cultural validity of pediatric motor assessments and has published and forthcoming manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. She has presented at various regional and national workshops on the topic of cross-cultural effects on infant motor development and cultural competence.
